Stay in our stunning rooms, celebrate and unwind with us and rediscover that life can be good again.

See you soon,

    The Grosvenor Team

The Grosvenor, Stockbridge is a little gem, lovingly restored to its former glory over the past 18 months. It sits proudly at the heart of Stockbridge, the smallest town in England, and home to the world famous River Test.

We offer a delightful mix of:

Sporting pursuits - fly fishing, shooting, walking and cycling

Tranquility - be that in the hotel's gardens or in the stunning countryside on our doorstep

Retail therapy - in the numerous independent stores, delis and galleries within a stone's throw along the High Street.

We love having your four-legged friends with us and have the most comfortable dog beds! If you're coming for an overnight stay, we would recommend our garden rooms to allow your dog easy access to outside space. Well behaved dogs are very welcome in our bar, in our Walled Garden and in La Hutte.

The hotel has a fascinating history, wrapped up in Stockbridge's racing past. Click here to learn more!

    Rooms

We have a total of 34 bedrooms including our sumptuous Hayloft suite (shown), our 6 stunning Garden Rooms that open onto our tranquil walled garden, our 6 Upper Test rooms with garden views, a number of other signature rooms on the top floor, a mixture of more traditional House Doubles and Singles, and the delightful 3 bedroom Tap Cottage. All bedrooms have to die for pocket-sprung Visprung mattresses.

The top floor and Mews bedrooms have been beautifully refurbished by Lottie Keith, our interior designer, who has mixed antiques with contemporary pieces and bold colours to create exciting spaces. Our Hayloft suite, with its own sitting and dining area and Cook's Corner, has been curated by talented designer Alex Lewis. The house bedrooms, with their wealth of original features, have just been sympathetically restored by local husband and wife team, Mike and Caroline Yates.

    Dining

Dining has always been one of life’s great pleasures and the best way to celebrate being with friends and family.

Come and join us with friends and family in our Market Room Restaurant, or in our new bar, opening in early March. The season is still open for our alpine-inspired La Hutte. Sample the delights of our talented Head Chef, Sebastian Smith, in any one of these eateries.

Our dining areas can be booked online but if you have any questions, please call or email.

So, whether you are seeking a fisherman's breakfast to set you up for a day on the river, a cosy lunch by a warming fire with an old friend, or a celebratory dinner, we will take good care of you.

    Gift Vouchers

An ideal option for the gift that needs to be 'that extra little bit special'.

    Garden

Step off the bustling high street, saunter through the hotel lobby and enter a world of calm that is our walled garden.

Tucked away in a sunny spot with a book or an old friend, while away the hours with a latte or something a little stronger and contemplate the big decisions of the day. Lobster for lunch? Seared tuna for supper? Is it too early for a glass of bubbly?

Completely enclosed, with views of 15th Century St Peter's Church to the west, and pleached hornbeams and flint walls to the east, take a step back in time.

A little oasis where, sat amongst the catmints and the peonies, today's burdens will ease to become tomorrow's opportunities!

    Things to know before visiting

    Bringing Dogs

We love having dogs to stay with us for a meal or an overnight stay! They are very welcome in the bar or in our walled garden. If you are bringing a dog, please let us know in advance so we can make sure you have a suitable room and have the dog bed ready. We might suggest you stay in one of our Garden Rooms with their easy access for a late night call of nature.

    Children and Family

Children are more than welcome too, both in the restaurant and to stay. We have beds and cots which can be made up in some of our rooms, or adjoining rooms for a family. Please contact us directly to discuss what might suit you best.

    Checking In and Out

You will have access to your room from 3pm on the day of your booking, however feel free to check in earlier and leave your luggage if you would like to explore the area or enjoy lunch. We ask that you vacate your room by 11am the next day, however we are happy to hold onto your luggage again if needed. We cannot guarantee an early check-in or late check-out, but let us know your plans and we will try our best to accommodate them.

    Accessibility

Our ground floor has no steps or stairs and there is wheelchair access to all ground floor areas including The Market Room, La Hutte, The Terrace, the bar, the Danebury Room, the Walled Garden and the Garden Rooms. Lord Louis's and Saddlers Mill are our two most accessible rooms for those with less mobility.

    Kingfisher Fishing Hampers

We are very pleased to be able to offer our guests delicious Kingfisher hampers for their days on the river this year. Please call or email the hotel at least 48 hours prior to your stay to arrange, indicating your preferences. Click here for more information.
